A variety of processes are used to ensure parts abide by the highest medical standards encompassed in our ISO 13485 certification. In Blasting, glass bead media removes the unrefined surface layer of material, leaving a smooth matte finish. To achieve exceptional aesthetics, the Polishing Department utilizes polishing belts and fiber wheels ranging in grit to ensure that there are no remaining imperfections and ultimately meet customer requirements. Finally, parts undergo the passivation process. During passivation, parts are exposed to a chemical treatment that removes particles and contamination. A passive film is formed and aids in preventing corrosion. These cleaning procedures allow for longer exposure time typically required in a medical setting.
